I LOVE RICE. I think its a staple, magical, and basically flavorless ingredients that CHANGES EVERRYTHINNNG. In days that I find myself too lazy to cook a proper meal, I find that rice mixed with soy sauce and whatever meat I have is a gooooodd idea. So for this blog post, I'll be sharing with you guys a more complex approach to my rice with soy sauce dish. [scroll down to the main recipe]
The great thing about fried rice is that anyone can easily customize their add-ins according to their personal taste and what they have in their kitchen. For this batch of fried rice, I actually didn't have one of my fried rice holy grail ingredients (thats right imma give it a holy grail title), white onions but I did make sure that I included it to my recipe down below.
Dump yo rice in and squish it around to make sure that none of the rice clump up into a rice ball
(^^ v professional)
Add in the pepper 1 tsp at a time, mixing well after every addition till you see that every grain of rice has specks of pepper on it
Add ONE MORE tsp of pepper to ensure pepper-y deliciousness
Add your butter and mixxxx
Make a well (push the rice to the sides of the pan to create a hole) and plop your beaten egg in the well cooking it for a minute before mixing it with the rice
Add 2 tbsps of the sauce (or more depending on how flavorful you want it to be)
PUT IT IN A BOWL AND YOU DONE
*this is a very loose recipe that doesn't require precision (which means its hard to get it wrong!)
Hope you guys try this recipe out! I sure have made a bajillion versions of this and enjoyed every single one.
Pepper rice!! I love pepper rice when it has lots of corn with it~~ Yes please Bea!! I'd love to see a Korean fried rice recipe by you. I've only eaten the normal typical chinese fried rice (which I love to death <3) but I guess a korean version would be spicier? xx Charmaine
Rice and soy sauce are a perfect combination. These looks really delicious, the sauce sounds delicious too with the honey and mustard. Thanks for sharing!
Wow this recipe looks delicious! I'm practically drooling over my laptop (not sexy but how can I not?). Bookmarking for my next at-home dinner date with Hubby STAT!
